Design as art

Our motto is also our method. We treat every project as a work of art: something thought through, drawn and polished until nothing is left over. We don’t work with templates or formulas, because every brand has its own story and its own needs.

A brand starts with knowing what it needs to say. We sketch, test and cut what isn’t needed until a form of its own appears. Then we polish it the way stone is polished: identity, imagery and motion, made to last.

From ink to artwork

Everything at Mercarte begins with a stroke of ink on paper. It is the studio’s symbol: the idea that is still liquid and, with work, becomes solid like obsidian, the volcanic stone that appears in our brand. That transformation, from the drop to the stone, is what every project goes through.

Our process in three steps

   Listen

   Before we draw, we learn your business, your audience and what sets you apart. We ask a lot and listen more.

2. II

   Sketch

   Sketches, words and tests. We explore many routes, then choose one: the one that truly holds the idea.

3. III

   Sculpt

   The idea becomes a system: form, color, type and motion, ready to use.

What working with us is like

Close, clear communication: you always know what stage your project is in, what comes next and when. We work in English and Spanish, remotely, with brands in Mexico, the United States and Spain. The studio is in Coyoacán, Mexico City.

We do identity and branding, web design, content and advertising and motion graphics. Every project starts with a conversation.
